Here I was, not needing any help since level 13. ( I think.) Cruising along, thinking the levels are getting easier or I'm getting smarter. But this room is making me nuts. I am getting nailed by either the snake or roaches, depending on who I let get the kill. This is my approach: I don't hit the 1st orb until the snake is heading away. I then hit the orb, enter the 1st chamber, kill roaches, hit the orb. Step on 1 trap door (to slow down the snake).Down to the 3rd orb. I can't get through the next gate, surrounded by roaches & the snake. I think I'm taking the least amount of turns. Oh, I've also tried to get the queen before going for the 3rd gate, but I can't evade that pesky snake. What am I missing or doing wrong?

You can indeed. This room is really an exercise in shortcuts; when you go over those trapdoors, the snake has to take the long way around, and you gain a good 20-30 moves on it. I always like to kill the snake in the passages at the top, with the brains.
