Just to clarify a little - there is a checkbox for this mailing list when registering for the forum. It's on by default, but new users can certainly unselect it - we're not forcing anything on anyone.

Also, in each message sent, there will be a link at the bottom that will allow the person to unsubscribe, hassle free.
