...I'm just saying, it should be a freeze-dried whale. And we can place it on platforms and drop it into the water, and it would lure all the monsters in a 6-square radius into water. And when aumtlich beams hit it, it's carved into flesh golems, which for extra puzzle potential becomes rock golems when a party member casts "Flesh to Stone"!

Hmm. This is back to the ray gun thingy, sorry. But, what if there were some enemies that could reflect his ray gun? With that, the ray gun could trap another enemy. And you would need to keep that trapped one there so that lets say, the pressure plate would be down for another enemy.
Kind off confusing, but it would be cool.

I think it can no longer really be seen as an in-joke anyway since the advent of the Aumtlich. It's a bit like the Flow (briars) which was considered anti-DROD and which everyone *knew* wouldn't get implemented

It's not a ray gun though. It's a biological feature which isn't well beyond the steampunk technological level. And furthermore, the Flow almost made it into JtRH.

You are American. You spell your dates in the form MM/DD/YY or mm.dd.yy or something similar. The rest of the world sees fit to put days before months. Except for the Canadians, who go both ways (I'm not kidding. I will write in either form without thinking. Confuses everyone, not the least of whom being myself)

I've taken to writing dates in "ascii sortable" order. 20070914. I've never heard any complaints, but I mostly correspond with other programmers.
