Just wanted to check if anyone else was getting the same issue as me. None of the keys generated via the website or via email work for me. Leaving the "Change Settings" screen takes 30 odd seconds and then I get the red cross.

Is this a local issue? My firewall is blocking connections on port 47450 - is this the port used?

Version 3.2.0.83
Nothing in drod.err

I'm afraid it must be something on your end, as CaravelNet works fine for me here.

Also, unless I'm totally mistaken it only connects to the Caravel server via HTTP, i.e. port 80...

But if you can get to the forum DROD shouldn't be having connection problems either, as it's the same server both use - unless you'd happen to have your http_proxy environment variable set to something that doesn't lead to a working HTTP proxy I can't think of anything on your machine to prevent you from connecting.

I've really no idea what the issue is. All connectivity works apart from Caravel. I have the following error message on the main menu:

"Your CaravelNet user key is invalid. Go to the Settings Screen to request a new key."

Maybe I should raise a bug. One more thing - I'm using the Linux build (which was working until the last couple of days).

Further update:
This is still not working for me. However, I tried Random's game account and it logged her in straight away. I haven't tried to request a new key for her though in case it breaks for her too.

Have there been updates to the key generator for DROD RPG?

This is the last key I tried:

Is that a valid Caravelnet key tied to my account?

That key, along with your username, would let anyone who reads this enter them in their game and play as you, downloading any official holds you have access to. If you want to ask about specific keys like that, please email support rather than posting them publicly.

That key is not currently valid, so either it got through to the server when you tried it, but you didn't get it back for some reason, or someone else has used the key you made public.

Oh, and key system has not changed in a very long time, certainly not for DROD RPG.

In any case, it's all of a sudden started working. The site is also a lot faster than it has been the last week.

I'll put it down to weirdness.
