Okay. So, we know that 'Neather survivor is quite possible, and that it's quite likely we'll see him or someone similar in JtRH. We also know that when we left him, he was still alive. The story doesn't say anything about seeing or not seeing him on the way back up, but we can assume he disappeared.

Now, why would a corpse disappear? I mean, we can't render it in DROD(too much memory use), but that doesn't mean that his corpse should just VANISH....

As for the vanishing corpse - I haven't a clue. Maybe the monsters took him and decided to give him a respectful burial.

Edit: Dude, what monsters. Beethro just got through extermanating 25 levels. You really think there's any monsters left? After all, he didn't see any on the way up.

The...invisible monsters. Where do you think all the monsters come from when you exit and re-enter a room after killing a whole horde and making a tar baby before you leave? That's where the monsters that buried, or ate, the 'Neather came from.

Then why wouldn't they just respawn the room, kill the roach, and have the 'Neather flee back to Rooted Hold?

Come on, we all know the 'neather isn't dead.

He comes back to appear in Bad Evil Restaurant, after all. How could he do that if he's dead? huh? huh?

:look

Seriously, though, I'm pretty sure he's dead. Beethro isn't known as the kind of person who leaves his work only partially done. And the reason you don't have a body is quite simple - like every other monster in the game, Beethro hit him so hard that nothing much remained of him. After all, didn't you see the splatter?

They can't respawn unless there's still a guy in the room.

I'm not sleeping, I'm checking my eyelids for holes

bonus marks for anyone who knows where that's from

I think Beethro put the 'Neather out of his misery shortly after his advice degenerated to "don't stick a fork in the light socket" and such.

It's only a flesh wound...

Well I've had worse...

Come back here, I'll bite your kneecaps off!

Now that my postcount spells 1337, it seems like a good time to go to sleep so I can review my posts tomorrow and discover just how overtired I actually am right now.

Anyway, we all know that the 'Neather swapped Beethro's sword for a prop sword that doesn't actually do anything, and he's just using stage blood to simulate having been stabbed.

How would he get back to Rooted Hold? Say "open sesame" at the wall at the bottom of those stairs? Either that, or trek back up to level 10 and wait for someone to come along and open that door. *Disclaimer: Said door may not lead to Rooted Hold*

Well, there will probably be a gate-man at level 10. The 'Neather just has to say the password, then he'll come and hit the orb.

Trap the 'Neather so he can't move, and exit the room without him.
Can someone please post a demo of this? I can almost do it. I just need 1 more move.
