×I have off a mud blob to shepherd around the room without hitting a pressure plate so that I will have mud blobs on both the upper and lower pressure plates. I can move the blob west along the top by cutting etc. while leaving the original blob as a six cell mud blob blocked by mud babies. I can even get my shepherded blob around the corner but I get into trouble at this point because I must go below the level of the babies left to block the other blob. It doesn't seem like I have enough time to keep both blobs trim when I have the one blob at the west end of the room

Could it be solved if it were twice as long? Yes!

Drop a trap door.
Use it to divide the blob.
Move BOTH blobs to left.
Move both blobs right to respective pressure plates.

Move blob to nw corner.
Break it there.
Follow above solution.

I really meant for it not to be possible to break the blob in the corner but it is and I just didn't have any more energy to see if I could fix it

Currently the mud exists in two 3x2 patches which cover the pink pressure plates.

After waiting for a spawn cycle, the mud needs to be cut both top and bottom. I can get to (1) with the clock hand at 10, sword NE. The only trapdoor still untouched is the one at (2). I need to activate it on the way to the mother, and this leaves me one move short of killing her on time.
