Question: Is there a way to turn on notification for a thread without replying to the thread?


Requests:
* Non-email notification. Instead of getting e-mails there could be "My Watched Threads" sections where you would have links to all the threads you were watching. This would be a convenient place to turn off notification too.
I'm thinking notification could be done similar to new PMs - there is a link to the Watched Threads under the forum banner and it turns red when there is an unread reply to one of your watched threads.

* H&S hold notification. Get notified when there is a H&S post on a specific hold (or level even).
I am just curious where and when people get stuck in my holds, and I'm too lazy to just do a manual search. :)

Another "me-wanna-notification" request: Holds hold notification. Show me when a new thread (as opposed to a new reply to an existing thread) appears on the Holds board.

I'm not sure what the result should look like. A third colour for the folder icon on the forum main page? Or an "ignore new posts but not new threads on this board" setting? Or an automagical mechanism that makes new hold threads sticky for [some arbitrarily chosen duration]? Of course, I have no way to guess how easy or hard any of these would be to introduce.

I would definitely like to get PM'd if a new thread appears on the Holds board. This would trigger a PM email which I pick up quickly.
