I bet your wand can't take a blast of pure time!
The time hound (offscreen) breathes time! You are sent back to the medieval days.
You are brutally sliced in half by a drunk knight. You die. Would you like your possessions identified?

Sillyman's avatar shows how good the human brain and visual system are at finding patterns. It doesn't actually contain a circle in the sense of a connected circular pattern of pixels, but I think everyone looking it at sees either a circle obscured partly by a vertical and a horizontal bar, or a round hole showing a part of such a structure outside. Filling in the gaps is pretty much automatic, because it fits something we could expect to actually see.

Maurog's avatar looks like an evil demon spider thingymajig, which is crossing its legs because it needs to visit the little demons' room. Thus, it both terrifies and amuses me.

Beefonthebone's avatar, which of (I think) that lobster man off futurama, has a innocent yet pleding stare that seems to so say 'FEED ME'. Very appropriate.

NiroZ's avatar depicts a man, who has traveled long and far in search of meaning of life. This particular scene shows him meeting his destiny when the God appears in front of him. Then he is hit by a 10 ton truck. An educational story indeed!

calamarain's avatar signifies his deep and abiding fear that he is but an empty shell of a man. Also his fear of tarnishing.

Please people...Avatars and their ilk are highly sophisticated and amazingly revelatory regarding one's inner psyche; thus should they be taken quite seriously! :rolleyes

I've seen some downright nasty remarks in some of these forums. Where's the love, fun and subsequent sense of humor? I'm even starting to not want to purchase DROD, much less post in the forums.
:thumbsdown
I'll be willing to wager big money that the previous poster is a teenager, and I guarantee he wouldn't dare make a callous remark like that to a person's face.
I'm a bit riled now, as posting is supposed to be an enjoyable thing.

Perhaps you shouldn't post while riled, then, since my statement was not directed at anyone in particular. I'm not entirely sure how you thought otherwise, since the poster before me didn't even have an avatar.

If indeed your post wasn't directed at any one person in particular, then it's safe to say that it was directed at quite a few people (in general). How does that possibly make it any less juvenile and offensive?

I don't think he's a teenager, but I don't think he's the most subtle adult in town. The post was downright cutting to the point of information, and not very helpful information either. (I am assuming that this person is a guy, because I have no evidence suggestion the contrary).

I am now going to speak in analogies to add some fun.

The point could have been ground down a bit less (to make it more subtle). He also might have wanted to get a longer stick to poke someone with (to get more reasoning to convince someone).

Well, I have no more analogies, but I hope I drove a point with some fun included.

No offense Jatopian. Just follow reasoning, truth, and forgiveness and you will become better. (Again, you're good already, so no offense).

Being 6'6" and just over 250 lbs., I've become accustomed to the vast majority of people being reasonably polite and congenial in my presence. Unfortunately, this obviously does not transfer at all to the online community, and I probably need to be adjusting a tad better to that fact by simply ignoring comments similar to his.
(I have a degree in psych, too, so I should know better.) ;) :)

Also, since this is a forum for discussions about avatars, mine is simply a subtle, silly response to a (rather crucial) topic about cheese.

Perhaps the statement was a complement on the fact that he had chosen a blank avatar over a bad one? Besides, you have to say something about the avatar here... if I had an overflow of mod points I'd mod all those posts in between me and Mr. Posting in Thread About Avatars Without An Avatar's last post down.

Edit: Cheese Good. See Also: Hypocrisy (the Hyprocrisy is mine, just to clarify).
