I am having problems getting started in this room. I know I need to activate the fecundo but can't trigger the orb to stop the aumtlich from getting the swordless beethro in time or without losing the fecundo which I will need later. I have tried all combinations that I can think of without success. What am I missing?

Would appreciate some help.

Two things:

1) If you do crash the fegundo into that orb, you'll lose the fegundo, and won't be able to complete the room. Choose a different target.
2) If the fegundo becomes ashes at any point on its trip to save you from the aumtlich, you're dead.

I recognized that I had to step on the token to the north. I have tried to hit the bomb to the NW but it won't work in time.

It will work. Keep going, even if it looks like Beethro is about to die.

I have done as you have said without success. On the 6th turn after stepping on the token, I am 1 square east of the bomb and the aumtlich is right next to beethro. On the 7th turn I move W, the fecundo hits the bomb and the aumtlich and beethro are destroyed.

If your screen looks like my attached screenshot just before you move west, I'm afraid we have discovered that this room is impossible in DROD 3.0.

The good news is, you Mac users can get DROD 3.1, and you can keep playing

My screen looks exactly like yours. I have upgraded to Mac 3.1 a few days ago so I guess it won't work. Actually its version 3.1.0.55

I don't have a Mac here, so I can't play around with the room for you. It works in Windows 3.1.0.54.

If the same thing happens to another Mac user running 3.1, we should head on over to the Bugs forum and report this problem.

Thanks much for trying to help. I appreciate all your effort. I will wait to see if another mac user with 3.1 has the same problem here.

I think there is a bug in the Mac 3.1 version. I transferred my data files to a windows machine and easily completed the room using the advice of Curious Shy Rabbit and the windows 3.1 version. I then transferred the data files back to my Mac and completed the other rooms on that level. I hope this will help other Mac version users. I suppose that it would still be nice to hear if another Mac version user has the same problem, but I strongly suspect that will be the case. Hopefully who ever is involved in the problems with this version will look at this issue.

Please post about this on the Bugs board so it can get tracked and eventually fixed.
