So what's the trick here? I assume I need both free wraithwings for the snakes; but, no matter what I do, I cannot avoid killing at least one of them. I attach my latest attempt; can someone tell me where I am going wrong?

Remember: wraithwings attacks in groups, not alone.

Yes, I understand that. But I can only separate them by killing one, which is obviously the wrong approach. They keep their distance until I get near the lower enclosure, and than I am outflanked.

I'm having the same problem with this room. Is there any way to make it through the trapdoors without having to kill one of the two wraithwrings?

Yes, there is a way through the trapdoors where you don't have to kill any wraithwings. A lot of trial and error is required.

* Work from the west side to the east side of the room. When you're above the big group of wraithwings, your path should head south, north, south, and then north off the trapdoors.

* Try to keep the two loose wraithwings away from the big group for as long as possible. When they do "merge", the loose wraithwings should be west of you.

* Use your sword to keep aggressive wraithwings from flying too close.

My demo ends up in almost exactly that situation (the bottom three wraithwings are clumped together, but otherwise it looks identical). So it should be solvable from there unless movement order plays a part. The next handful of moves are:See if that helps, otherwise I can post a demo.
