This is something I concocted quite recently, as you could probably guess. It was inspired by a discussion on how many monsters could safely be in a room.

I would say that this is slash. Not hack and slash, just slash.

And it's a bit tedious.

But it's easy!

Enjoy

Aah....

The feeling of destroying several hundred monsters in a minute does make one feel very powerful, as is watching the spray of several hundred litres of blood fly from your sword as you move from one end of the room to another.

It was rather frustrating, I'll have to admit, when I overstepped a little and died embarrassingly at the hands and teeth of the "helpless" monsters.

One small thing - if you step off the north-western corner of the room to the next one, you end up on a green door. This is also true stepping off the south-western corner, where you land on a blue door if you haven't cleared all the rooms.

I must say, playing this game with the repeat rate set all the way up - there's a rather impressive graphic for the bloodspray as you go from side to side.

Rooms 2N, 3N and 7N allow you to leave them without killing all the monsters (well, actually all the rooms do, but it's easiest in these), making it impossible to return without restoring. I know it's not worth fixing, but I figured I'd point it out.

I haven't been able to play yet, but it sounds sort of too much hack&slashing. I always seem to make errors just as I'm finishing off a giant horde. Are there very many checkpoints?

There aren't any checkpoints.

This is sort of a joke hold - it's impossible to lose unless you make a silly mistake. I wouldn't like this sort of room in the middle of a real hold (note my recent comments in the Deep Hold thread), but here it's just a silly diversion.

I died about three times because I was trying to play this hold at the same time as another game. I always pushed up just a little bit too early, and always in the second to last row or something like that. :(

Game on,
