This is a medium sized hold I had lots of fun working with. It is based on a swordless Beethro and lots of speed potions, which are one of my favorite TCB elements. I hope you will enjoy playing it just as much as I enjoyed making it :)

I was a beta tester, so I've played much of this hold over and over again.

I think it's great. It's easily my favorite of Rheb's holds, and while I think it's also the easiest hold he's done, that's not saying much.

The puzzles are excellent, interesting, at times deeply frustrating. There are a few that I don't love, but most of the rooms I didn't like as much are secret rooms, so you don't really need to play them if you don't want to.

I think it's an excellent demonstration of the puzzle potential of speed potions and swordless Beethro.

I give this hold a 10, with 8.5 brains of difficulty.

Just one minor thing: my high scores keep getting rejected. Anyone else playing with 3.1 and getting the same issue?

This is one excellent and hard hold. Challenges abound and knowledge of monster movement is required. I have enjoyed every room so far and have had a number of "Oh" moments when I realize what the intended approach is. Great work.

Schik has commented that the spider still uses 3.0.0 as well, so
problems with high scores with patches are not that surprising. I expect they'll be sorted out when the patch is finally released.

I've managed to get to Level 3 and solve one of the rooms there, but it's getting really difficult now.

I must say, you've done a real nice job with this hold, Rheb. A lot of these rooms remind me of the secret room in Beethro is Getting Home: The Basement. All in all, some tricky puzzles.

I'm holding off on rating the hold immediately, though, seeing as there's a couple levels I haven't seen yet.

You shouldn't feel bad -- I figured it out when I noticed that Tahnan had a demo that was much shorter than the best I could do. Considering all the unintended solutions we culled out of other rooms, I was surprised to have missed this one.

It's definitely hard to do in the intended way, but rest assured that it's possible.

Unfortunately, the hold update rules are fairly explicit on this issue, which is to say: updates are sometimes allowed for playability issues, but unintended solutions are not considered to be playability issues.

I suppose exceptions may be possible (speaking just for myself here), but I'm not sure that it wouldn't just be opening the door to a whole mess of trouble.

The secret snake room on level 4 is a perfect example of an impossible room which is erm... not impossible somehow :) I've no idea how anyone could design such a logically beautiful room! Genius...

Which rooms?

Regardless of which: insofar as the "no changing rooms" policy is there to protect people's high scores, I feel like if an upload needs to be done to fix some rooms because of a patch, that doesn't license changing other, non-broken rooms to remove unintended solutions.
