According to mrimer, all the things that are adopted on the SF page of Feature Requests are in the game. I wanted to see what was there, and I figured I'd list them for everyone else as well. If this offends a dev teamer, well, it's public info, I'm just making it more accessible.

Note: Some of these were only approved, not necessarily adopted.

That's all that were approved or adopted. Some other things were implemented, but I think all of those are in the game as we have it.

I "secret"ed it, because I now realize that some people may not want to see this. I do. :)

Like you say, it's public info, but I think 1.7 will be more exciting for you if you don't know what's coming. Just a thought.

Anyway, you forgot a few things, like the - - -

Never mind :devil

No.

First, I've promised I won't, and I keep my promises.

Second, what's in the secret box above should be enough for now. Give a hand, and they want all of you...

Sorry if this sounds harsh, I really don't mean to be. Let me tell you a little story: You're in the cinema, waiting for "Kill Bill vol. 1" to start. Suddenly a "Matrix Revolutions" trailer hits the screen. It goes on and on, and lasts for what seems like ten minutes, showing absolutely every surprise that happens in the movie. After seeing all that, Matrix 3 won't hold any surprises for you, except possibly the credits. So, if you want to see the movie, and want it to be a better experience, do what I did: Close your eyes when you realise the trailer just won't stop. I've talked to people who didn't, and they regretted it.

Not that Matrix 3 was very good anyway, but that's another discussion. I liked Kill Bill, though. Hm, I wonder what that says about me ? :P

I'm glad you decided that, trick. I was going to say something, and then I thought, no, let's see what he does. You didn't let me down, man!

Game on,

Well, I'm not like trick - Here's the two big secrets that will be in 1.7. If you don't want to see them, don't highlight it.

Without saying much, I want to let you know that based on the comments you made I think you won't be disappointed. :)

Any word on how the improved pathfinding will be implemented? Will we get a second type of brain? Or will it be that all monsters will be silently replaced with smarter copies the way Erik suggested on the sourceforge site? Or something else?

hopefully in the next version in the editor there will be road like tiles that were used level 24 and the 'neather can be selected as an enemy space but you can only have one of him in the entire hold

Monsters like the 'Neather need to have their entire movements scripted. That is pretty much beyond the editor's capabilities and need to be directly programmed in. They will most likely be reserved for "official" holds. I am sure that the new stuff will provide more than enough ideas.

Game on,

Yeah - even if it will be possible technically to have 'neather style monsters, it may still be a good idea to keep them out of the editor and limit them to official holds - that will be more incentive for people to buy those holds...

Are those really going to be there, or are you pulling our respective legs?

I was going to raid the source code for 1.7 so I could drop 'rumours' about the new monsters (however, unlike most computer game official 'rumours' some were going to turn out to actually be utter bull). It turns out that incomplete source code is kept on a protected server so people don't steal it and come out with Rooms of Deadly Death.

That said, I looked at the 1.6 source code and was quite worried. As it turns out I'm not that great a coder after all.

Heh. Just pulling your leg. If those WERE secret new elements, I wouldn't be telling you. :)
