Unfortunately, this is one drawback to the "wait for the Illumination to be posted before ending the contest" system - the Illumination has more and more been posted towards the end of the month, not near the beginning.

Not that the huge amount of participation is a problem, I'm just saying that the monthly contests, as a result, tend to actually last a bit more than a month.

Okay, I agree.

I think I'll pull my number two back to make it a little easier for you people when it comes to voting. It's not anywhere near as polished as it could be, and I'm slowly losing interest on working more with cheap tricks.

This is my late and garish entry.
It doesn't rely on lighting or customization at all. Yay!

If someone wants to make a contest compilation, he/she may use my hold for that. For anything else, I'd like to be asked first.

Hey guys! There's a load of entries, so I've gathered all so far (except for the 3.0.2 ones with 3.0.0 counterparts) into this zip file, for the benefit of everyone without a download manager.

It might've been good to do a submission topic and organize this into leagues, but too late now I suppose...

Yes, there are a lot of entries but so many were from new people how can we complain. Plus we have had all month to not only create them but to play them as well. The play time is much better than the usual week or so. I am about 2/3s through the pile and it has be really fun to see all the different ideas.

Erik has a win win here he has very little work on the contest side and gets lots of new hold ideas for the next game. :cool

Oh good lord I hope not. :-) I mean, some of these cheap tricks are so very, very cheap...

The nice thing is that few of them take very long to play. I've been playing them as they get posted, which I wouldn't usually, but I too was worried about the volume of them. Typically, though, I'd download it and either see the trick or get tired of trying to find it within a few minutes. (I don't think there're more than one or two of them that I regret not spending more time on.) So it's not as bad as it might look.

Call me a traditionalist, but I feel like the July contest ought to end, I don't know, some time in July. Where I live, that only gives it another hour and a half; but, er, perhaps the deadline ought to be, at this point, "A week after the Illumination comes out, or August 10th, whichever comes first"?

Okay, peoples. Let's wrap this puppy up!

I've been on another business trip to Germany and it's been hard to get back to the Illumination and solving the problem of duplicate e-mails sent to people on the list, i.e. "Bulk E-Mail is Good" x 9. But I don't want that to hold up the contest.

I think there are ~12 levels in there, 1 full of darkness and a room image that tiles the whole ground, 1 that tells you the solution to the ~10 levels after it, and ~10 levels that are exactly the same, except for 1, which holds an exit.
That answer the question?
