I have conquered 9 of 10 secret rooms on this level. I can't seem to locate the 10th. I know, I know, that is a lot of rooms to recall but is there one that is more secreter than the others or is accessed from a different level or something?

Here is what I've found - 11 rooms in total but only 9 of which I could conquer:

Six (oops - five!) plus the one in the ordinary course are directly accessible from the rooms on the level. Is it that one of the rooms that I don't think I can conquer is in fact conquerable somehow? Or have I missed a room (most likely given that I now think only five are directly accessible!)

You're missing a room that's directly accessible off of the main loop.
