I had DROD open and mimised, and I just alt-tabbed into DROD, to find that the message 'You are idle in chat' had popped up about 10-20 times.

Although I fail to see the point of this message, unless it tells you when you've DC'ed from the chat or something like that, I don't need to be told over and over again.

A likely story. I dare suggest you do not get these messages simply because your DROD does not send them in the first place.

'You're idling' messages only appeared in the 3.0.2 second release candidate patch, near as I can tell. Said patch is only available for Guinea pigs running under Microsoft Windows, so Apple eaters from Scotland need not apply.

Look, er, sorry to bump, but I'm starting to find chat unusable because of this constant "you are idle in chat" message. Can this be fast-tracked for fixing, please?
