Eyes that have an unbreakable glassy shell preventing them from being killed. When they see Beethro, they disolve their shells and turn into ordinary eyes to save weight and enable motion.

That's a pretty cool idea...how would you implement it visually?

And the only suggestion I have would be to have the armor not cover the pupil of the eye, so that it can be killed without the armor being removed if Beethro strikes it just right.

Perhaps for a graphic representation, the eye's color could be black if it has not seen Beethro yet, or some other color.

I agree about the pupil being weak. It would cause problems if not. (Think stepping)

Since this is basically an old monster with a modification, I don't have any other questions.
