This might be a little hard to explain how to do it, so I'll let a demo do the talking.

But you're on the right track. BTW, I just beat this room yesterday.

This is one of those extreme hard room as you have one or two moves leaway and that's it.

Even with the demo it is difficult to reach the NE queens in the west room without being killed one way or another.

I suppose one could spend considerable amount of time (hours) and plot each move from the demo and, perhaps, maybe perhaps, one could actually reach the X in the lower middle.

Really too bad as so far it has been a most enjoyable game.

I am not sure it is worth the time and effort to solve this room. Hence, the game is over.

You might want to have a look at the demo I've attached since tokyokid's demo doesn't exactly take the easy route with the slayer.

Since the slayer only gets triggered when you step on one of the tiles that are covered by a breakable wall, you can delay his appearance long enough so he'll just get crushed by the briar without even being able to reach you, while you'll only have to dodge a few tar babies and roaches.

Well, I can't guarantee it'll get you back into the game, but you should at least give it a try...

I will take a look at your demo and see if I can convince myself to give it another "shot". So many "shots" now that I am running out of ammunition

OK Your demo was excellent. I never gave a though of going down the east side of the west room. Finally figured out how to beat the east room with your help.

An easier demo doing the room an easier way is easier to follow.

Also, viewing a demo step-by-step and playing a room are mutually exclusive, and giving others a better idea how to solve a room might be more beneficial than just telling them to copy a demo step-for-step...

And, best of all - it worked.

Something else to consider in this room is that not all monsters need to be killed. As long as they are exposed to the brambles (I forgot the name) the job will be done for you.
