I was real pleased when I finally managed to kill all the monsters here, then I noticed the location of the green door.

I don't see any way to successfully conquer the room: I need a baby at the top to open up the tar section, but I can't kill that baby then. What am I missing here?

I can't figure out how to cut into the gel blob. It obviously has something to do with the crumbly walls on the left, but I can't seem to maneuver myself, the gel, and the doors into the right position together.

I had a flash of insight and figured it out. The thing I couldn't get was just finding a corner to start cutting.





The rest of the room was easy after that.

That's how far I got. Please give me a demo... I know what to do but not how to do. That room drives me nuts. It's by far the worst I saw in TCB.

why? you're near to the goal! i rebuilt the room in the editor and tested it. i think it's still possible to solve the room!

Can someone please tell me if I can complete the room from where I am in my demo, which has hopefully attached to this post. I can clear one side of the top plates and kill the two babies but can't clear the other side to be able to lead a baby onto the plate so I can go down to the exit area before setting him free from his perch. I have tried for hours cutting different ways and just can't get it. Thanks

Thanks CuriousShy Rabbit, I can't get it to work, I either end up with a 2x2 blob on the right or a 2x6 long blob that I can't cut,hence, can't lead a baby through, I really don't want to have to start this room again as I hate it with a passion, along with a couple of other rooms on this level that I have still to get, thanks for you help.

Ooops... you're right. You can't cut that gel. Just tried it again in the editor. I had it wrong in my post above.

When I first tried this room myself, I had the same problem, when I let the gel grow up to the top of the room. My inelegant solution was to keep cutting the gel as it grew west, so it never reached the northern wall. This is something you could do as well. You wouldn't have to redo the whole room, just the part where the gel is growing.

However, the posts above describe far more elegant solutions than mine. Growing the gel all over the room is not at all necessary. They used a mud baby to hold the gel door open, not a gel baby.

I have another issue with this room,
I've done the challenge, and got rewarded in drod, but not on caravelnet.
I saw that some people got rewarded.
Guessing this is a spider issue between 5.0.1 & 5.0.2,
so I was wondering if I could get a demo to see where I've gone wrong

As it's set up right now, challenge demos don't get you listed on the challenge page. Instead, you have to be connected at the time you get the challenge. Restore to your furthest save in the room and get the challenge again; undoing works if you happen to have a checkpoint after clearing the room.

It only earned the challenge because the hold was updated; there was an issue with what it was checking for before. Specifically, if there was another gel baby adjacent to the plate (which is very likely if the doors are open) the challenge would fail.

Maybe that has something to do with why you haven't been getting credit for it?

I've been on holiday for a few days, I now going to try to get the challenge (on caravelnet).
I did an update of TCB 5.0, I will do it again, but then first there needs to be a bug fix for exporting my player file,
since I can't export my player file for a while now.
So when I did the update, I lost all my challenge progress and demo's...

So to be clear, I've got the message in DROD, that I've completed the challenge, but caravelnet isn't accepting it.
So where aren't the gel-babies supposed to be?

Can I maybe have a demo from someone, who's demo was accepted by caravelnet?
