So it appears the images for TCB do not exist yet - I guess I was lucky it let me pick exactly the right room for this level...

Anyways, the furthest I can get is dying on (16, 19). This is by breaking all the broken walls on the left of the path and none on the right, and letting the briar kill all three eyes). Besides - it seems I need to wait for it to let me out of between the yellow doors on (14, 4) which means the only hope I have is breaking more yellow doors so the briar has more edge squares, slowing it down. However, it seems that taking the four moves to turn my sword and break any of the broken walls on the right ends up losing me time rather than gaining it.

Suggestions?

How much is plenty? I can't figure out from this demo how to avoid a larger number of steps.

Well, the best I get is square 16/23. I'm very proud to this but also 5 steps away from safe ground. Again I need hehehelp, please.

Silent Edit: I manage to get to 16/27. Only one step away from safe ground. Hopefully waiting for the H&S magic....

I read all the post for this room but I still can't finish it. It seems I need the Brier to grow to hit the top right hand plate to open the last yellow gate. When I do I start down the right hand side but I always get killed before making it out. There must be another way but I am really stuck. The best I can do right now is 15 squares from the last trap door. (exit)

Any help PLEASE. I have loved this version of DROD very much so far. Nice job guys!!

This is a really frustrating room. Even with nobodybutyours' precisely-detailed hints I can't get through. (I did try different crumbly walls, no help.)

Everything you did before stepping on the checkpoint was fine. The problem is what you did after that.

How do I break through the top 2 yellow blocks before the briars get too close?

You need to slow down briar growth by allowing it to grow next to as many pits as possible. See nobodybutyours' post above on how to do that.

Also, at the top, don't waste time having Beethro do things that the briar will do for him.

The closest I can manage to escape is at the trap door. And then it gets me. Can someone send a post of how-to or better yet, an example demo? That shows no Beethro death?

With the changes in briar behavior implemented in version 3.1 of DROD, this room is now very difficult.

If you can make it all the way to the last trapdoor, that means you are breaking the correct number of crumbly walls. You need to fine-tune which crumbly walls you break, and you need to reduce the number of times you turn your sword.

The 2 crumbly walls you do not need to break are:

Can you tell me which one you should hit from the top to bottom?

I even tried missing the seventh and second. No, I think you need to hit the seventh one, that's where you go backwards I guess. If not, I'll keep trying.

No, I think I got those mixed-uped. Try it first, third, fourth, fifth, seventh, sixth, eighth. I hope that's the order.

Hi (Under the library: Room 2N4W
Hope you can help me /I have no problem making it to the top.
My problem: I get stuck beetween the 2 yellow doors (14,4). When I wait for the briar to open them it always catch up with me ahead on the way out.How can I open the doors before it gets there.
