Edit: Please do not play this hold. It is a bit boring and was one of my first holds. The only reason you might be reading this is if you played my other holds and thought they were good.

Even though this is Vipual's first hold, it is still pretty good! There are quite a few good rooms, with the first level being some of the best! There is a little bit of weird scripting, but the puzzels make up for that. There are also a few new and original ideas, and a few puzzels will make you think just a bit.

This is an above average first hold. Bonus for that. Coming from a beta tester, I give this hold a 3.5 brains, and 7 overall. I'll be looking forward to your second hold! :D

My only real complaint is that some rooms have too much checkpoints.

A reasonable hold. No story to speak of. But a few puzzles that, while not particularly difficult, are still fun to play.

I give it a 6, with 3.5 brains.

Josh

As a beta-tester, I honestly found a lot of bugs with it, but I think Vipul learned quite a lot about scripting from this hold. I also think that it turned out being pretty good for a first hold.
I gave it a 7 with 3 and 1/2 brains. Keep up the good work. :)

This is a nice hold. It's a good mixture of everything ; different themes, different styles.... It was fun playing and it's definitly one of the slightly better "first-timer" holds. Particulary I liked the scripting... it's well done. What I missed were well placed checkpoints and I also disliked some unfair spots (the goblin attak after the secret room in the last level...).

I think all in all this hold deserves 6(+) points and 3,5 brains.

There are a lot of fun rooms in here. And in contrast, there are rooms in which roaches appear at random. I hated those rooms; it made it impossible to plan out a strategy of any sort, and optimizing felt like a matter of pure chance. (I also thought hiding orbs under NPCs was a little, well, mean.)

So not unflawed; but with rooms (e.g. V3: 1S) that were quite nice.

As an somewhat less than average ability player, I found this hold to be interesting and rather play-able. However, there were several rooms that really needed checkpoints. The last four rooms where a pain in the backside to play several times.

I don't worry about optimizing, so found the "appear out of nowhere" roaches a great part of the puzzles, though I almost wore out my backspace key!

I will look for your other holds to play. :)

You know what? I just realized something about the title of this hack... wait, did I just actually type hack? I meant hold. Funny coincidence, since VIP is also the name of a SMW romhack made by 2ch. Which may itself just be coincidence, but ah well.
