icon First Level Challenges (0)
I have a goal to create a challenge for every room in DROD that is not (for example) rooms like the start rooms, etc. Some of these challenges may already have been done before... Here is the first level.

Level One

Entrance Room
Complete the first 5 rooms without turning your sword from the direction it was when you began the level (this should be southeast)

Move once north, once west, and once north
Without pressing “wait” and not killing any time, conquer the room in exactly 115 moves with your sword pointing southeast
I gave the above two before - I said 106 moves, and some people said 116 and 115. I tried again, and got 120, so it'll stay as it is.

Move once north and once west
Complete the room with sword pointing east

Move once north
Exit this room with 2 roaches still alive. You may not reenter this room through the east until all monsters on the level have been killed.

Move once west and twice east
Only kill roaches by backswiping.

Move once north
Kill the first roach, wait three turns, then kill the second.

Move once west
Hit all three orbs before killing any roaches.

Move once north
When you get to the roaches stacked four layers thick, don’t use the alcove for protection like it says at the scroll.

Move once east
Make sure all roaches exit their three-side ring of walls before you kill any.

Move once west, south, east, south, west, south, east, east, south, south, east. [Exit Level]
(That wasn't really necessary, but.....)

Ah, but I had gotten 115 with turning my sword. That changes things.

When I checked, I found that 115 is what I had written down before- well done!

Why not also try, since you "feel like making more nasty challenges out of Dugan's Dungeon" (:D), making your own puzzle rooms/levels to challenge us with as well?. I'd love to see, and I'm sure it applies to everyone else on this forum as well, what nasty puzzlers you can come up with.

Export them to a hold file, then upload them to the forum.

If these instructions are too vague, then just ask again, and I'm sure someone will tell you exactly how to do it (I can't do it now as I need to go to bed now...)

Yes, a little too vague, as I do not know how to do either of those things.....

I shall assist!

First: exporting a hold.

Before you can export one, you must build one. This is done by clicking the "Build" button, and fooling around from there. It's pretty self-explanatory.

Then, once it is finished, as determined by you, go back to the main screen and click the "where" button. Highlight your hold, and select "export". It will take care of the messy details, and put your hold in a place where you should be able to find it again, chosen by you. This brings us to...

Uploading a hold:

Every time you post a reply or a new topic, there is something saying "Attach File:", then an empty rectangle, then a Browse... button. Click the Browse... button, and find where your hold was placed. Select it, (double click or open the file) and it will be shown in the previously empty rectangle. Then, post as normal and it will show up under your name information.

That's all there is to it! (Sorry if it sounded like I was talking down to you, I didn't want to leave things out.)

Right smack dab in the middle of the main menu... You could not possibly miss it, if you were using the most recent version of DROD - the one that is nearing the end of the beta testing process as we speak (currently build 41, RC4 - completely stable in my experience so far, all of 30 minutes, but maybe one or two suspected bugs still remaining - I'm sure more beta testers are always welcome)

Check out the bugs forum, the architecture forum, and the following link, and have a little fun :)
