Briefly on the subject of WWs, I find the undo key extremely useful. I think instinct tells you to generally run away from creatures, but with WWs, always move where you would last go if they were roaches.
Lining up the last one/two is always difficult and takes more practice.
Their movement is never random (as you probably know), since there is no randomness in any room. For a full explanation on how they truly move, check out
this. Probably won't help too much unless you're very patient, have a calculator handy and know in which order they were placed
At least they're not as bad as goblins
