Hello!

This monster, which was inspired to me from the monster in Harry Potter, is like a cross between the SF Zombie and blue snake requests. It moves and is killed like the blue snake, but has a freezing gaze that can be blocked by mirrors and Beethro's sword.

One more thing-since spiders flee from it, all spiders in a basilisk room will stay as far as possible from the basilisk(s) (the same way roach queens evade Beethro) until all of them are destroyed, but will still come after Beethro if close enough.

Questions? Comments?

-Noah

P.S. Zex20913, hope you don't mind I copied what you said in your "Roach Motel" request. :eyes:-O:D

That's alright, it's not trademarked like "Fair and Balanced" is with Fox News... :P

Anyway, this monster may be tough...but I kinda forget what exactly blue snakes will do.

Question about "freezing gazes" for anyone who knows...can monsters block the gaze? Would they be frozen as well?

Interesting relation... :D

The blue snakes were to be like regular ones, except once in the dead end, they'd just stay the length unless you attacked its tail.

Think of how the zombie worked...it would freeze any live being it saw, blocking anything behind it.

Hmm...I have a suggestion, something that may or may not effect the way you feel about your monster.

What if it moves like a snake, but can only be killed by stabbing the head? (ref. the movie) If the head were to be trapped, the tail could be sliced until the head could be reached. This would need cause the Basilisk to possibly be in one square. (Think of some 1*3 floor surrounded by pits.) A rule should then be implemented that it can "turn" if one square big, one turn after the tail has been completely cut off. Again, this is a suggestion, not a demand.

I do like the "spider fleeing" thing. It introduces some new things, but what would a brained spider do with a Basilisk in the room? Would a brained Basilisk act as a serpent would? I think that's it for now.

I'd have to think about this. The way you said it, it's a little unclear.

A brained spider would flee from the basilisk the same way a brained roach queen runs from Beethro. And yes, a brained Basilisk would act like a brained serpent.
