GAAAHHH!!! I just accidently deleted YET ANOTHER FLOOR of hard work because I forgot that the Delete button above the level map is for deleting the level instead of the selected room!

Yes, I know that you can press Delete on the keyboard to delete a room, but if there was a Delete Room button, we wouldn't accidently press the Delete Level button!

[EDITED because nobody likes a rant.]

I once did something like that, and I found away around it that's most likely to late for you. I deleted a 200 room level I was working on (I'm being serious here.) and I panicked once I accidentally deleted it. I did something stupid, but it actually seemed to work. In my anger I turned off the computer by pressing the power button instead of closing DROD and booting it down. Since DROD hadn't yet saved my changes, when I turned the computer back on again, I found the level back as good as new. That's probably not an option you can take anymore if you closed DROD normally. Sorry.

To be fair, it does come up with a message saying 'This level and all its rooms will be permanently deleted! Are you sure you want to remove it?'.

Then again, perhaps it would have been a bit better to make 'No' the default rather than 'Yes'.

All in all, a) I feel very sorry for you :( and b) Don't move. If you haven't closed DROD, the level may be hidden somewhere in your computer. Probably not, but some people here may know ways of getting your level back.. if you haven't closed DROD.

I haven't closed it yet. But what do I do?

Actually, I have gone out of the editor to import a hold. Will that mess it up?

Maybe I should post that question in another board. Hang on . . .

On the bright side, I still have one room of it, and I also can remember exactly what another was (because it was a really small puzzle involving goblins).

The room that I still have is actually on the Architecture board. I was trying to make hard puzzles, and I decided to make one involving invisibility, and unkillable roaches next to tunnels.

When I make another version, I'll at least have some of it still there.

I just am disappointed, though. I have a really short attention span. I'm lucky when I can finish making a puzzle, because the tedium involved in making/testing some types of puzzles makes me want to give up and work on making a room for another concept in my mind. You see, I have all these ideas, but it takes me forever to stick with one and finish a room.

You should see my list of unfinished SubTerra levels. Because I'm such a pack rat, it's way too hard to find the levels I actually did finish making, because those 15 levels are buried among 85 that don't even have a start point!
