Given all of the countries represented in this forum there is no "
right"
time to say this, but where ever you are in the world, you
will be about to/are in the middle of/have just finished celebrating New Year.
I find that Hogmanay is always, for better or worse, a time of looking back over what the past year has held and contemplating the year to come. This Hogmanay I am looking back on one of the most difficult years of my (longish) life and fervently hoping that 2007 will be better/healthier/happier. One of the positives to have come out of it however, is this game and this forum and you dear people. Since discovering DROD in March I have learnt so much - about computer games (well this one anyway), which I had always shied away from, and about the technical workings of my computer (including - JEEBUS!! - using Terminal!
). I have learnt, it seems for the umpteenth time in my life, that kindness can be found in many unexpected places and always warms the heart.
During the dark days in March and April this game and this forum saw me through some tough times and helped in ways that I cannot begin to express adequately. Whatever the future holds, I will always be grateful for that and for the welcome and acceptance that I have found here. This is a very special site.
So may I, in time honoured Scottish tradition. raise a dram and say to everyone here
a guid New Year tae ane an' 'a and lang mae yer lums reek!!
Elfstone.
