I just tried to go to my writing site, clicking the link in the usual way, but I got this page (attached). Does anyone understand what it says and what has gone wrong? Is it the site or is it my computer?

MySQL is a database system that seems to be running at The Site You Wanted To Access. The page you got is MySQL reporting that something isn't working. I gather the Site uses MySQL to manage all the submissions they receive and things of the like (databases aren't my cup of tea, though, and it's hard to be more specific without knowing the site).

So, the problem is not on your end, and should be resolved relatively quickly. I underline "should" at least a few times; it's always possible that MySQL got seriously broken, but this doesn't appear to be the case here.
