For those of you who haven't played it, Doom the Roguelike is a quick roguelike based on the original Doom. It's very fastpaced for roguelike, but with combat more tactical than a lot of the traditional "deep" roguelikes. Plus, it has sound!

For those of you who have played, a new version is out, featuring difficulty levels, player progress tracking (it keeps score of your achievements), challenge modes, as well as more enemies and special levels.

I've tried an earlier version, and while didn't find it quite as interesting as some of the more traditional games of the genre, it wasn't *bad*. The concept is fairly original and there are many neat effects (Like the ascii art in examining screens). Will check the new version out at some point.

Pretty cool roguelike; the action focus makes it a bit easier for me to get into than Nethack.
