The sheep hold is based upon one of my ill fated holds I had made using the architect’s edition.

Originally a serious hold it got edited to the point where everything was completely wacky and insane. After the original file got corrupted I went into a decline, promising myself I would never build a hold again as this would probably keep happening.

Years later I started working on a new hold, based vaguely on the old hold I made except with much more backups.

With the zenith of easy to put together programming I can once again put together the insane and endlessly entertaining Sheephold and have it parody newer things as well as interest the player with all kinds of cool stuff I have found or devised.

This entire hold is free to edit by anyone but please play it all the way through first.

There is also one meager secret, but I don't think its worth divulging where it is.

Also, for some horrible reason the file size is bigger than the demo of the game itself so I have put it in a RAR file if you don't mind.

(Scratch that, its the exact same size in the RAR file as out of it so you can forget that).

(wait, did the file even upload?)

Gimme a moment.

NEW AND DRASTICALLY UPDATED VERSION2: the sequal! again...
New version, new rooms, nothing incredible.

basement of pain from the room to the left of the beginning.

How big is the .rar file?

And why is the hold file so big...?? Does it have custom floors and/or custom music?

Lots of voices and two bits of music, I was honestly expecting the whole thing to compress when it got exported as holds.

Incedentaly the Rar file and the Unzipped file are the exact same size. :?

Improvements? things you don't like? list em' out if you will.

Wav. :(

Even cool-edit-pro doesent have .Ogg saving capabilities.

Kind of annoying, I would have been happy if it could be saved as .mp3 myself.

Yes, .wav files are more or less never a good choice.

Audacity is free and good at exporting as .mp3 or .ogg :)

Neat!

A tad late now. But this is the exact, very reason I posted this on the Architecture board first. Luckily I still have the huge list of sound files I used on my PC, I personaly would like somthing to convert the sounds inside the file itself. -_-

But that's just wishful thinking, would save time though.

I think the file is too big to be uploaded via the 'Attach file'
Maybe, Tombot, you should upload a version without all the extra sound and music files onto the forum. It would save people the trouble of going through rapidshare/trying to download it on dial up and they can still check the puzzles(which is the important bit).

I Honestly don't think the puzzles are that important for everything in this hold, just try playing it for a bit.

But sure, I'll make a version without sound. Is there a way to make a legitimate copy of it?

To make a copy where I can remove the sounds and show people without having to put all the sounds back in again by having a separate copy of it.

Just install DROD in a different place, export your player and the hold(or copy all 4 .dat files across), and then remove the sounds in that version.

You could, or even better, click "Copy" on the main editor screen.

Removed all sounds and the file size shot down to a palsy figure.

I think I know what made the file size so huge as the voices only gave it three megabytes more, I shall soon fix it.

I just need to converta few sound files to ogg using that free cool thing you found and this should be of a respectable size in no time.

OK, I've done it! Check the first post for drasticaly updated version!

Okay, this hold will never have a chance of being published because it has copywrote voice acting (specifically Gandalf from LotR, and more :angry ), explicit language, and the hold reused a level of Ben Chisel's Five-Sweet Speaking Grauns (Level=Public Entrance).

On top of that, there's no puzzles, either. Mostly hack n' slash, and rooms with monsters that are required, yet unreachable. I wouldn't play this if I were you. :no

Oh, the voice acting is in the level

Edit: Not to mention the real song in "Ram".

Actualy I made that level entirely from memory, including a text file with all the words wrote upon it, if you actualy compare it to the hold you mentioned you will see they are both very different.

Swearing can be censored and only gandalf's voice is heard but is from the main website and is the only example of voice acting not made by me. The music is heavily edited, puzzles are there but they may go unoticed.

You don't actualy need to kill the monsters to continue either.

All problems shall be addressed. :D

Edit: due to design oversight, people might misinterpret this bit:

I was supposed to make it clear that you had to occasionaly tap the five key to continue with the scene and see the bits beyond. Sorry if you got confused, this will be one of the things made clear later on. :dontgetit

You need to delete the old version from the hold list I think, then try to import it.

No, that shouldn't make a difference. If the game says it's the same or an earlier version, then it is the same or an earlier version. A few potential things that could be causing this are:

- the new version has been downloaded such that it doesn't replace the old version, and the old version has been imported by mistake.

- the new version was exported such that it doesn't replace the old version, and the old version has been uploaded by mistake.

- the new version was created, but not exported (it't happened).

(I'm not saying that one of those is definitely the problem, but they are possibilities).
