ok, the goal i have to figure out is clear: i have to use the tar babies to kill the snakes. the right side should not be a very great problem, but: how should it be possible to avoid the left one baby from leaving the orthogonal squares? i believe there's no way to reach the orb without this. but in this case i see no way to bring the baby on the left back to the most-left column...

There is no way to bring the baby back. You just can't let him leave the left-most column. This is indeed possible.

I just started this hold. This is a tough one. I'm just not seeing it. The orb is too far away. I can do the right side, but I can't reach the orb before the tar baby on the left moves into the right portion and is trapped. A little nudge in the right direction would be great. Thanks

Thanks for the help. Like with all the other puzzle that I have encountered the solution seems simple. After you keeping making the same mistakes over and over, it just takes a slap across the face to wake you up. Thanks again.
