For those of us here who like old school adventure games, the new Sam and Max game by Telltale games is now out. It's a relatively small game (3-4 hours gameplay), the first of 6 episodes that they plan to release over the next year.

I got it (and pre-ordered episodes 2-6, which if you buy as a bundle prices the whole thing the same as one off-the-shelf game), and completed it. It's really a lot of fun and I recommend it. Not as great as the old Lucasarts game, and the plot was rather predictable, but the puzzles were fun.

I'm not an expert on the history of it, but as far as I know, there's no direct connection.
