Argh! This looks like it should be a horribly easy room, but something just isn\'t clicking. Since I just started playing DROD and can\'t wait long enough for my brain to realize the problem before I want more, more, more... I\'m <sob> asking for help.

I sometimes have that problem as well, I ask for help and then I figure it out on my own before anyone has time to help me. I\'ve been working on my restraint; if I can\'t solve a room after trying for a long time, I stop playing and do something else for a while. Often when I come back to the game I realize the solution on the very first try. I think that was the case with this room for me. (and a lot of other rooms after that!)

I usually do that too, but I just hadn\'t had enough DROD yet to satisfy . Now that I\'ve had some more, I actually try to take regular breaks to actually get some work done. I know, I\'m some kinda crazy!

i have known the game has existed since 1997, i got some \"100 smash games collection\" CD, i remember coming home from school and going straight to computer and playing drod, heh i was stuck on level 2 and level 3 was impossible for me (don\'t know why) I\'m currently in level 8, only 2 rooms left. the room with the 3 tar mothers and the room north from the room with the tar mother on the top right and theres two doors you choose from. (sorry i don\'t know the location)

(maybe I don't understand what is the top switch)

By the way, in my version there are squares with hands on the left side of the room and not blue 'flowers'- maybe i've got another version.

Sounds like you have the KDD2.0 demo, so this room will be in the purple foundation style. That should only make things look different, the gameplay should still be identical.

The second post in this thread contains the solution (in "Secret" form). You must go what may seem backwards to drive the roach queens out where you can get to them later.

Ahh, stuwy, that brings back memories. I was also stuck for a while, but figured it out thanks to this post. I'm a newcomer who dusted off my Smash 100 Windows 95 Games Collection CD and low and behold, the first game that showed up was D.R.O.D.! I wanted to know how D.R.O.D. had fared all these years, and later found a version was freeware. Who doesn't love freeware? So I hooked myself up!
