Completely lost

I can see that i could clear the tar from the other side, but can't figure out how the mimics or the guards could help me do it.

OK, I've got to admit this room has me completely baffled . . . for an embarrassingly-long time now.

How do you And It's worse in my case, since I don't know where the error is so I can't eliminate it.

I must be placing my mimic in the wrong place/facing the wrong way or something because I am being left with a guard, brain and mimic I can't dispose of. Bigger hint please?

Well, you don't need to dispose the mimicdecoy to drop the green doors, but it helps.
