The actor was the same actor who played Stevie's dad on "Malcolm in the Middle." From there, it was a matter of finding a movie where he played someone in jail, and confirming using a Youtube clip of the scene.

Yep. I deliberately tried to take some obscure screenshots from the movie in hopes that someone would, at the very least, recognize either Beethoven or Burgess and put two and two together, so to speak. :)

I knew that pic would give it away.

Mulholland Drive is a really interesting movie. It intentionally doesn't make sense, and everybody who watches it forms a different theory on what everything in it means. For instance, contrary to many other people, I got the impression the second half was a dream (I blamed the first half's strangeness on... well, have you seen Across the Universe?). But I've only seen it once.
