I looked around at the site, and found the guy. His email address is sasha@tochna.technion.ac.il rather than sasha@tochna. You can also find a nicer page on the project here. It seems that Alexander Arlievsky is an instructor at the Software Systems Laboratory, whatever that may be, and the project is a suggestion from him to the students.

Oh, I don't know. I hear of a DROD project about every other month, and so far only one of these has come to fruition (mine). I'm inclined to wait and see what happens with this one.
