Hello all

Another thing I'm currently thinking about is:

Do you need to be good at maths to master DROD?

Since I am miserable at mathematics (I prefer languages), do I have a "handicap"? DROD has some patterns (the tar mothers, for example) and is easily one of the hardest puzzlers I've ever come across. I usually need quite long to master a new enemy, like the goblins.

Is it my mathematic dyslexia or do all have such trouble with some levels?

My theory on this:

Anybody can be a master of DROD. People strong in math may be quicker, or at least more enthused, about it. Check out "DROD tendency..." on the anything page for comments on this.

Pattern recognition is probably the second most thing you need for DROD. The first is patience.

In fact... there is one thing you need more than patience to play DROD effectively - it's time!

Time: Something I need more of.
Anti-Time: Something I need less of.
Pseudo-Time: Something that I've never come across so I don't know how much of it I need.

This has been super fun dictionary time with Zmann. Tune in next time to hear the definitions to food related words!

I don't know...
I'm pretty good at math, and I beat DROD in about two months without help with the exception of 2 rooms in Level 15, which I skipped.

DROD doesn't really require good math skills, beyond the ability to count. The most valuable information I have for math in DROD is that it takes 4 swings to turn your sword 180 degrees, and moving diagonally saves you a step vs. snakes. Beyond that, it really comes down to taking the time to learn how different monsters behave, and realizing that you move before them, not at the same time.
