I've noticed this before - for some reason, sometimes the forum refuses to let you type backslashes in a message - I've noticed when typing filepaths. That is, you can type them, but when you post the slashes are erased and anything either side squashed together. Sometimes they post fine though. Is there a reasoning behind this, or is it just a strange bug?

This was mentioned previously, when I myself tried to use a backslash in a textual representation of a DROD situation. A backslash is treated as the backspace character, which deletes the character as if you had used the backspace key on it. I don't know if anyone knows exactly why this is. At any rate, you can use forward slashes to represent file paths, if you must.

Maybe it happens only in specially formatted text regions, like that Courier font stuff.

Okay, it's now officially a strange bug, since sometimes it lets you and sometimes it doesn't. Before I wasn't able to put a backslash in code tags, because it was treated like a backspace. But now I can:

When was the last time it did *not* work? If it's been a while, then the bug may have been fixed. I honestly don't recall if I fixed that or not...
