This is a puzzle-oriented hold, with most rooms involving monster manipulation. It has three levels, with a total of about 35 rooms. Fairly difficult in places. No story.

JtRH v2.0.11 or higher is required.

This hold is currently making my head hurt. But I'm reaping the #1s, so it's okay.

Must admit zex, you're getting a hell of a lot harder to beat :)

Great hold so far... though I'm still hovering between the 1st and 2nd room trying to shave some moves off.

After observing you guys' demos (michthro, Rabscuttle, Syntax), is it any wonder?

So confused...why do the first two rooms of the prologue not have high scores?

I'm definitely going to have to update this hold, because the last major room -- L3:3S1W -- has an serious error that negates its whole point. I apologize to the at-least-two people who've solved it already.

Because I marked them as not high-scorable. I assume those aren't the rooms Syntax was referring to.

You're absolutely right... I was hovering between the 2 first scorable rooms.

I'm liking this hold a lot. Or at least, the half of it I've been able to do so far. Very creative rooms!

Couldn't agree more :)

I tend to switch a lot between holds, especially after a hellish day a work when an easier hold is required, but yeah, I'm more than happy spending time on this one. I'll update once it's completed but so far it's an 8-8. This also a brilliant sequel to "Spare Rooms"...

Watch out larrymurk ;)

Hey, I couldn't agree more. This is a great hold. I wish more people would make thoughtful, challenging puzzles like this! I'll comment more when I complete it. :smile

Finally done!

Great job, great puzzles, great hold!!

I love this style of puzzles. The architect (kid blue) designs each room around a unique interesting concept. He generally makes the rooms very clean so you can concentrate on solving the puzzle instead of examining extra room contours or killing a hundred monsters first.

Some tough rooms. I thank the help gods on L2:4N3W and the L3:EXIT rooms. A fun hold to play and you'll come away with some new tricks up your sleeve for the effort.

Just conquered this excellent and difficult hold. Great use of elements to create new puzzles (although I thank larrymurk's recent hold for teaching me a few things that made certain rooms here easier to solve.

At this point, though, the score is Secret Rooms: a lot, Me: zero

I've managed to find the secret rooms in the Prologue and Epilogue, but I can't even find the ones on the second level. I must be missing something really obvious, but I can't see it at all. Can anyone throw me a bone?

(This of course says nothing about actually solving any of these rooms -- I've had zero luck there as of yet.)

Josh

[EDIT: By the way, the hold gets a 9 and 8 brains from me.]
[Re-EDIT: Found 'em all. Just have to solve them now. Two down, three to go.]

And finally done. That was definitely a challenging hold, I don't really know where to start with the comments. There were so many different types of puzzles. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think every type of game element, with the exception of the slayer, was used at least once. And used well! :thumbsup

[edit:I am wrong, make that slayers and spiders]

Some of my favorite rooms:
L1 Secret Room (6 mimics)

L2 Secret Room (the one with all the decoys)

There were a number of rooms that required tricky guard manipulation, which I thought gave the entire hold a neat theme.
Anyway, fun, challenging hold. Nice job.
