A unique feature/bug that I\'ve encountered in these kinds of situations is that if you wait until the mother closes her eyes and hit the orb on the next turn, the door will open and then the tar will expand through it, which can cause trouble with two-square wide doors. You just have to remember to whack the orb the turn after the mother opens her eyes after blinking, i.e. the turn after the tar expands. This might not work in all situations. But this is leading up to an interest of mine: in exactly what order are actions executed in DROD? Two possibilities here:
1. The room is executed systematically, one square at a time, starting in one corner and going west to east, then north to south, until the opposite corner is reached. This would be very easy, but would cause discrepancies in the way things work depending on where they are in relation to each other, so I think it is the next one.
2. There is a specific order of execution, i.e. Beethro, Mimics, Roaches, Queens, Eggs, Eyes, Wraiths, etc. I\'m guessing that Tar comes last except for Tar Babies, for no reason whatsoever. I suppose you could find the exact order through trial and error, but does anyone here actually know what it is for sure?
