In this game, you start by posting an image from Google Earth/Maps. First person to tell you what that image is wins!

In order to win, identify the following three points of information:

1. Where this is
2. What is at Point A
3. What is at Point B

Don't worry, it's not that hard.

I have no idea, but I'm curious as to what those quarter circles to the south of point A are - some sort of sporting field?

This is pure guesswork here, but I would say it will turn out points A and B are coppro's house and the place he studies in. And I bet the quartercircles are baseball fields.

Keep in mind that people are from all over the place and might not know every single street in places on the other side of the world.
I'm not saying that you did this, Coppro, but please don't post images that only people from your city would know about.

You know, that's exactly why I picked somewhere that had no direct relation to myself.

And all of zaubberer's conclusions are correct: this is in fact Redmond, WA. I live in Canada.

I spent two hours looking for all of the microsoft locations, I had a feeling it had something to do with Microsoft, but never once came up with one in WA. Great shot coppro.

I did.

His go, then.

Next time, could you just repost instead of editing?

BTW, techinically, it's not the Nintendo headquarters. If you are really nit-picky, that's only Nintendo of America.

even if i misspelled "redmond": a tip to find places in google earth: i never was in the united states and it tooked me about ten minutes to find the place of the first riddle. i used the google earth community and like usual in google the keywords for the search are defining the quality of the results. :D
a little "trial and error" with "microsoft", "apple" and "intel" let me found the place.

my picture is taken from a wellknown city, shows a major sightseeing place there. clue: it has a hight of 365 metres.

so:
1. where it is?
2. what is point A?
3. what is point B (the tourist feature i talked about above)?

We're looking at Berlin there, specifically Alexanderplatz, point A is a world time clock, and point B is the Fernsehturm (which is actually 368m tall as of the 1990s, according to Wikipedia).

Right?

(A hint for you in the future, zaubberer... crop the coords off the bottom next time, hmm? ^^;; )

As can be clearly seen from all the cranes, this is in Berlin :D

B is the Fernsehturm, and A ... probably the Weltzeituhr.

Haven't been to Berlin for some time. Can anyone tell me if there are still cranes near Alexanderplatz?

Great city, shame about the food. (But definitely worth a visit or two...)

Don't know, I was talking in clichés about the crane thing. I've been to Berlin, but very briefly (two S-Bahn connections on my way to and from Poland, under an hour total), so I guess I'm not the best source for information on the place ...

Do you trust all they say in Wikipedia?

When dealing with major landmarks I'm inclined to, yes. I didn't actually look at the City of Berlin's website, though, so if they're saying it's the 365, then they're probably more right than Wikipedia.

So, um... Wait for Zaubberer to confirm then post a new one, or just post a new one anyways?

What city is it?
What's that building at A?
What's the landmark at B?

(Also, for zaubberer... You attach the image to your post, then put an {img} tag with the attachment address (you can find that out by hovering the mouse over the attachment link) in your post. Go ahead and quote-reply my or coppro's posts to see how exactly that works.)

You put a link to the picture between [ img ] tags.

You can use a picture attached to your post, but the catch is that you don't know what the link will be until you've already made the post. Solution: First just post with the attachment, then find out what the link is (your picture in this thread, for example, is http://forum.caravelgames.com/getattachment.php?id=14525), then edit the message and add in the image tags.

You can use a link to a file on another web server.

In a somewhat unlikely case you can even use your computer's hard disk, but that only works if 1. your computer is permanently on, 2. permanently connected to the internet and 3. configured to serve files to complete strangers. Not recommended unless you really know what you're doing.

That's because it doesn't search everything - you have to be fairly close to where you intend on looking in order to turn up results, because they only apply in a certain radius from the center of your view.

I thought London - the Thames - when I was watching the pic download; that bend in the river, but the roofs are the wrong colour.

Could that be the Tiber I wonder? I have no idea what the building is, but if I've got the right river, the landmark could be one of those whopping fountains. O:-
