You are *paying* people to make you an avatar? By the sounds of this post, you are equating mod point donation to effort made. That is what and why I go to work every day.

Now, my real question is thus:
What about those people who mod'd you up for some useful or funny post? In effect, *they're* paying for your avatar. That time I modded you up for your take on how a yak and a 2 metre piece of hose pipe could save the frog population in the land of Khaal... well that was great. So I modded you. And now, my mod point goes to people (who for all intentions deserve it) but who are doing *you* a favour. Taxation I say!

Anyways, I know you know I'm only joking.. but only just (the joking part). At least turn it into a comp or something, or reward *everyone's* efforts.

Yeah, I thought this might be met with some criticism. I looked at it more of a lottery-type system than a work-type system. It also feels sorta weird to say "2nd place gets nothing" or "you might not get anything for what you've done", but...uh...I'm convincing myself here.

But, it's sort of a contest. Maybe this should go in the contests thread instead, I don't know. It just has fewer winners than a typical DROD contest.

Well, there has been dramatically less turnout than I expected for this. Not that I was expecting much, mind you. And I think I was far too vague in my request of "avatar!".

And I didn't like either entry better than my current avatar.

So I'm just going to give each of you 10 mod/rank/whatever they're called points, and call it a draw. (Heh.)

Indeed, the low turnout derives from the fact that the task definition was too vague. "An avatar" is not enough. You needed a couple of guiding sentences on the lines of "emanating tranquility and peace", "shows my inner ninja nature" and/or "features a furry animal".
