I assume that were I to be super-duper efficient, I could control the tar babies while dispatching the tar mother, but an inaccessible snake is something else again. Am I going way down the wrong path?

Then I was able to clear out the tar mother, approaching from the north.

I'm not sure why that rattler is not behaving. He should come right in after you once you clear the mother and drop the trapdoors.

Got it . . . thanks for the confirmation I was on the right track.

The snake wouldn't come to me at first because - duh - I'd not yet removed all the tar.

What's the well know trick to stop further babies spawning at 3? I don't know it and am desperately running from top to bottom trying to clear all spare tar and babies with no success. I'm beginning to get really fed up. Please help. :~(
