If I understand correctly, this is the current process:

* Hold gets updated
* All the high scores for the hold are marked as "invalid"
* Spider checks them and re-enables the valid ones

Would it possible to change this, so that demos for an updated holds are marked "invalid" *after* being checked? High scores and #1s are fluctuating a lot over the last week due to all the updates. Surely a flag already exists which would work, as when you checked all the demos the other week, the high scores weren't all deleted first... The code behind the spider icon doesn't appear to delete them first either...

On a side note, the spider looks to be down at the moment...

It's done the way it is to minimize reports of "Hey, I downloaded this demo and it doesn't even work in the current version!". I'll think about this, but I'll probably leave it as-is.

While I appreciate your vigilant watch over the spider, when it's down, I either know it and am working on it or there's nothing I can do about it at the time. So you probably don't need to waste your time reporting it when you notice it.
