Hold Battle is something I thought of during the last few weeks. It's basically a one-on-one battle with another player to outwit them. I have attached a hold file with the rules being described.

The users of CaravelNet that I used as examples show no link to their personalities or themselves in person. In other words, if you're names here, it's not making fun of you in any way.

Depending on popularity, you could make knockout competitions, leagues... even a ranking system for players who make the hardest rooms.

So... basically more of this? I kind of got the picture it would be the best to make always hard rooms.

I really think you should be more specific about what can be done. For example, rooms that take at least a month to solve would be just unfair, which Stefan's rule 4 in that contest prevents. And there are some ways to make practically impossible rooms that could only be solved with trial and error or knowing the solution. I doubt you'd want to allow those either.

edit: Also, scripting/no scripting/restricted scripting? You can be pretty cheap with it.

edit2: Why let other people make sure the room is beatable. A single victory demo by the author should be enough. No victory demo at the end of the round = Loss.

I'm not saying yay or nay, but I doubt I'll be doing anything in the near future. Besides, this would probably work better on a smaller scale like Stefan's contest, or the interest might fall quickly.

That would be good. Two players create a scripted character in a kind of coliseum (1 facing East, and 1 West). It can't be invincible, but you need to make an attacking loop suitable for battle. The two scripts get copied and put in the same arena - see who made the togher opponent. Imagine... DROD Fighter !!
But,
You can't import scripts yet, so this could be good for TCB.

EDIT:
This for example is a "basic" fighting script I put together.
Open it and build your own fighter... BUT DON'T LOOK AT MY SCRIPT, and don't preview it. Make your own script and then post the result and watch them fight... see who wins :)

I wasn't mentioned.

But Someone Else and I actually had a two-player SttD made up, we just hadn't ever bothered playing it. I think that that stands to be the best multiplayer DROD there could be.

You will need to post an arena with your script already added, and your opponent must then add their character to it without viewing your script.

You can use my coliseum hold as a template and delete my script if you like.

Maybe I'll challenge the winner of you guys :)
