I get the idea of this room and I can get started alright, but I'm having trouble finishing before the timer runs out. Can someone please offer an efficiency hint or two, maybe the order to go for the trapdoors?

It's kinda obvious that the tar mother's growth must be suppressed. I can get partway to success, but not right at the end . . .

Can I beg the indulgence of the group to view my non-ideal demo, and let me know where I've gone wrong? This file is the best I've done, although I've tried various other waiting and moving combos . . . Thanks!

I'm not proud of how this room turned out. The general idea was to create as many babies as fast as possible to prevent the tar from growing uncuttable.

There are a lot of ways that work.

Maybe someone can give you good hints.

As usual, I am happy to offer a demo.
