What about an orb to change the direction of arrows on the ground. With this feature monsters, such as goblins, eyes or bugs could be trapped. I don't know if it's hard to programme, but i think it would be fun.

How exactly would it change the arrows? Rotate them one stage every time they turned? Reverse them? Or to a fixed state?

The last one would probably be best - you could have some very tricky mazes with this feature...

i think it should be variable, like the orbs, that control the doors: rotate them clockwise
rotate them counterclockwise
mirror them
setting it into a specific direction
