Uh... really? If the backspace key actually helps you solve anything, that's a bug.

Edit: After some more investigation, there's a bug with the Neather script in KDD 2.0 which allows Beethro to avoid being trapped there. (Using Backspace is not necessary). If you're playing Architect's Edition, you do need to get trapped. Details on the bug in secret tags:

×When Beethro steps on (3,13), the Neather takes a step east and then strikes the orb, taking him two steps. If Beethro backs out after the Neather takes a step but before the doors are closed, he can get around the other way. The "real" Neather (built-in Neather monster, as opposed to the scripted NPC in the KDD2.0 room) would take a step to the same orb, but notice that Beethro backed out and go back to waiting instead of striking the orb anyway. Beethro can then try the same trick on the left door, again moving the Neather but no orb struck.
