×If you look at the original post, the spot marked 3 can actually be ignored. If you let a tar baby grow there, as happens on the first spawn, the tar will not grow more than two tiles into the corridor, and it can still be cut.

This means the only spot you actually need to move somewhat quickly for is 1, and you have three cycles before that one's a problem. Every other trouble spot is several spawn cycles away from any tar reaching it, so it shouldn't be too hard to manage.
