Plus, single-instrument songs tend not to mesh very well with computer games.

isn't some of the current music single instrument?

and also, couldn't you get free music, like of AUS's ABC?
their stuff is good, and maybe if someone ask politely they could get you some new Music

last thing, how good does the recording equipment have to be? :huh

Yes, but if the single instrument is piano, at least it'll play chords.

Yes, but I'm afraid I don't know what AUS's ABC is. Do you have a link?

Good enough to not have background noise or distortion. For instance, I had this guy doing voice samples for me, and he had his TV playing in the background...

it's Australian Broad-Cast and here's a link to somewhere in the site, but you'll have to find out for yourself were and whether you can find any good music for yourself, as I don't got near the net for long at all.

http://www.abc.net.au/classic/(sorry the last one I gave youb was just for ABC, not for ABC Radio. alll you probably got was election stuff)

and most instruments can play chords, like the violin, and such.

No, it's because there are insufficient entries as of yet.

I guess it also means I shouldn't submit my save file to show that I mastered the entire Supaplex set either.

this is embarrassing, but I admit defeat with Calculus, Radiant.
I'm still trying to figure it out, but obviously I haven't yet...

PostScriptum. Why is it called calculus? from my small understanding of calculus it has nothing to do with the level...

Yep, you stick them in your "C:\Program files\SubTerra\Data" folder. Or wherever you've installed the game.

The full bunch can be downloaded here: http://crystalshard.net/subdown.htm

NOTE: Upgrade

SubTerra II has been upgraded to v1.2. The changes are minor, just a bunch of bugfixes.

jeffandy1234 wrote:

Well, no. They're levelsets for SubTerra 1. The two games have different objects, and so forth. At present, no levelsets have been created for SubTerra 2.

I do understand binary(10011-101-101[or is that "11001-101-101?])
but what you mean by binary math?
all I can assume is that it's something to do with mathertizeing binary numbers...

how do I update my version?

to jeffandy1234: me too...

Simple - math in binary.

1 + 1 = 10

1010101 + 0010111 = 1101100

101 * 011 = 1111

Et cetera.

To expand a little bit on Radiant's post: Binary numbers are nothing more than a series of ones and zeroes. To illustrate:
decimal=binary
1=1
2=10
3=11
4=100
5=101
6=110
7=111
8=1000
9=1001
10=1010
11=1011
12=1100
13=1101
14=1110
15=1111
etc.

Aaaand on the topic of Radiant's levels... how did you come up with the "scoring" system for the Eye Queue series of levels?

You mean how it works? Internally? Basically there's three sets of pushers, that move to the side for each new question; each answer button is a cloner, that has a rock above them. The wrong answers have this cloner blocked off by a pusher, so only the right one will make a rock fall through. Pile up enough rocks and one falls to the side and opens a door.

Umm....A few Q's about the hall of fame(s).

first is that, I assume you can update your score if you want to.

second, how many more (approx.) people would you need for the ST2 HoF?

me and VD qualify... :)

The problem with my levels is that I lack the creativity to use objects together like that. Or what I do end up making is either boring or not challenging enough. :(

Don't get discouraged, you just need some practice more than anything else; the creativity will come in time. I played around for about a year or so before making anything decent. I'd show you some of the abominations I came up with and called levels, but they've long since been deleted.

Update

As of today, both SubTerra and SubTerra 2 have been updated.

This includes a number of minor bugfixes, for which I'll point you to the change log, as well as the infamous Theseus and Roman Mile fix :)

More importantly, both games now run windowed, as well as full-screen. I'd appreciate it if some people could give this a quick test run.

Well, the mouse isn't bound to the window but it disappears while in the menubar. Also, the image is slightly taller than the window, so there's no bottom border. Good work, though!
