Place a character in a room, no script, but make it visible and give it a base type of something like Evil Eye.

When you right-click on it (or if you gave it some HP, press the battle key), its name will appear as ? and the following errors are logged:

Assertion error in line 1808 of RoomWidget.cpp: "pCharacter->wIdentity >= CHARACTER_FIRST"
Assertion error in line 1822 of RoomWidget.cpp: "!"Unrecognized character""
